DART Expenses grow $216 Million, Revenues $23 Million

Since 1999, Operating Expenses at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) have far outgrown Operating Revenue. Operating Revenue comes in the form of fares from bus, rail, and paratransit users, as well as other miscellaneous revenue sources, mostly advertising and leases. As the following graph shows, Operating Expenses from 1999-2008 have gone up $215.9 Million dollars, while Operating Revenue has gone up slighty more than ten percent of that amount: $23 Million dollars.
