Reality Check in Dallas

It’s Reality Check time for Dallas Real Estate. In direct contradiction to the DFW Housing Industry’s “DFW Housing Facts” campaign, complete with roadside billboards and websites (http://www.dfwhousingfacts.com, now empty) that proclaimed “It’s different here”, I noticed this MLS House listing, for a property just a mile East of downtown Dallas (MLS: 11092985):
Price Reduced: 10/17/08 — $249,900 to $124,900
Price Reduced: 11/13/08 — $124,900 to $99,000
Price Reduced: 12/16/08 — $99,000 to $89,000
Price Reduced: 01/06/09 — $89,000 to $84,900
From $250,000 to $85,000 in four months. I would call that getting slapped by reality.
