2008 Word of the year: "Bailout"

Shows just how screwed up we are. Other contenders were “vet” (the verb, not the noun), “bipartisan”, and “maverick”.
For my taste, the word of the year should have been “hoocoodanode”
Hoocoodanode Happy Gilmore dvd , - means “who could have predicted or known” among all of the highly-paid experts or big-money CEOs that ____ (credit crunch/bank failures/housing mess/you name it) was going to happen? Usually used by so-called “experts” trying to explain their failures.
